WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO WITH MY CAMERAS

WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO WITH MY CAMERAS
Who I am Behind the Cameras

I am a photographer with over five decades of experience, beginning as a five-year-old kid watching my dad making color and black and white prints in his darkroom. Seeing an image develop on a piece of paper in a tray bathed in the strange glow of a red light bulb seemed like a magic trick to me. It still does today, but I no longer wonder how it’s done.

During the past fifty years, I have worked as a photojournalist, a sports photographer, and a fine artist. Boxing Legend Oscar De La Hoya selected me to be his personal photographer for the majority of his professional career. My work has been published by The New York Times, The LA Times, The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, HBO, used in TV documentaries, motion pictures, wrapped around buses, and displayed on a billboard in Times Square.

I enjoy what I do - I take pictures for the love of it. Some of the people who have been in front of my camera include Presidents, superstar athletes, English Royalty, celebrities, authors, and people from every walk of life. Some of the cars in front of my cameras include Vintage Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes Benz, Maserati, and Koenigsegg. I have extensive experience in the editorial, commercial, advertising, portrait, and fine art fields of photography. What I do Behind the Cameras

I take great photos, whatever the format, whatever the subject matter. I am well versed in both film photography and digital photography. I work with film cameras in almost all formats including 35mm, 120, and 4x5, and I have the best modern digital equipment as well. I'll also do whatever it takes to capture the image I'm looking for including DIY tricks like using a modified toy plastic camera if necessary. Again, whatever it takes!

One of my cameras is a 1940’s press camera that captures images on a 4x5 inch piece of film. I fit this camera with a seven-inch diameter 1940's era surplus United States Air Force Aerial Reconnaissance lens which produces a look that is not possible to replicate with digital equipment. This lens was used by The USAF for aerial reconnaissance runs over Germany during WWII, and it helped the Allied Army win the war. It is a piece of history, an utterly unique lens. As far as I know, no one else is shooting with this gear allowing me to offer you the best that old-school technology has to offer.

With this incredible camera and lens combination, I am able to produce archival black and white prints that will last for well over a century, preserving the image for posterity. Regardless of whether I'm taking a portrait of a person or an image of an exotic automobile, the result is always the same: beautiful, timeless art.

My goal for you is to create images that will allow your legacy to endure for generations to come. I invite you to contact me to discuss how we can create photographs that will become cherished heirlooms for you and your family to enjoy.
